Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | BENEFIBER QUESTIONS PLEASE ANYONE??

Im IBS A and I have not been on ANY fiber SUPPLEMENTS.. I do the diet but mostly stick to the SAFE SOLUBLE list. I take ALIGN also. It seems I cant have a REG bowel movement ( not to be graphic but I have to explain) Its piecy, loose always light colored and sometimes I am straining just for that?? I get the urgency that I need to go then its loose or nothing?? I have been told I need to do a fiber supplement but have lots of questions. I have Benefiber that I bought yesterday but is it going to make the Loose B worse?? How do I introduce it how much and what time of day? Does this help make the stool more solid? I think I have read that fiber supplements do both & can make it easier but more solid at the same time so that it works well for both C and D sufferers. I am A so how does it work for me? With what I have today is it going to make it worse or help? Please anyone with more experience in the FIBER supp. I don't want to end up with more Cramps D and pain. I am not really in pain at the moment just un-comfy in my belly like I need to go again. I did buy Heathers fiber over a year ago but gave up on it I was doing it gradual but was getting bloated still ??Please advise. I m scared to begin but think I need to ...
