I have a problem with broccoli, which I dearly love. I keep trying to sneak it in my diet, but each and every time I do I suffer -- BIG time! We're talkin' MAJOR gastro irritant here! Well, last night I fixed Mags' recipe for broccoli leek soup. The veggies are cooked a long time, then you process them in the pot with a hand blender. I ate it -- a LOT of it! Yep, I had my broccoli WITH NO AFTERMATH!!! No cramps last night -- and this morning I had the most perfect BM I've had in a very long time. WOW, what a treat for me!
I guess I'd bring my bread, as you suggested (and oh YEAH -- those magnificent brownies -- YUMMMMY!) and get there early and watch what everyone puts in the pot, making it a fun thing. (I'd also eat something at home before I left, just in case.) And if I had any question about the fat content in the soup stock, I would just pass on it, having filled up on the bread. Bottom line -- it just ain't worth the risk, ya know?
