A poll for IBS-Cers...       05/13/08 02:03 PM Edit Reply Quote Fen Reged: 03/01/08 Posts: 574 Loc: Central NY I'm just curious how many IBS-Cers have been helped by a soluble fiber supplement. I certainly understand the logic behind a SFS for IBS-D, but I'm not sure I understand it for constipation. My diet is primarily soluble fiber, right? I'm trying my hardest to sneak in insoluble fiber wherever I can without triggering the horrendous gas and bloating. How does adding even more soluble fiber help? I ask because I've been struggling with IBS-C for years, and I'm still struggling. The EFI diet has not done much to help me be more "regular." It's helped enough with the bloating that I continue it, but it hasn't really fixed that either. Whenever I add a SFS, it seems to help for a few days, then it doesn't work anymore! And if I take them before each meal forget it, I look about 6 months pregnant and nothing's moving down there! Which supplements have you had the most luck with?
