I have really bad GERD and usually feel the pain you described after I eat something acidic (like tomatoes,or ANY kind of juice),or Spicy food,so stay away from any kind of pepper(black,red,white). Anything with Peppermint is horrible too as any kind of tea (the exceptions being Cammomile and Fennel). My rule of thumb is if it is high in vitamin C (orange juice,pineapple), I don't eat it.You can add the supplement to your diet.You may also have an Hernia(I do).There is nothing much you can do about that, but avoid these foods. I had my gallblader removed a few years ago,so I know it's not that. Stick with a low fat diet and avoid the foods I mentioned and the pain should go away.
