In case anyone was wondering, I haven't left the boards, I've just been away from the computer for majority of the summer. Health-wise, I had one bad week with three attacks (WOW...first ones since February!). I imagine it was totally my fault...I had a tricky-looking chicken dish from the diner...okay with it that night but not okay with the leftovers...food poisoning even? Who knows . But a definite reminder of how awful those d attacks can be. Then I got a bit cocky another time and tried a 1/2 cup of decaf coffee after dinner at a restaurant (the first SIP, yes, even SIP) of any coffee since September). Not sure if it was directly related to my mini-attack the next day but you can be sure I will not go near the stuff anymore. It's so not worth it. Otherwise, I have been feeling pretty well except that these barbecues with summer visitors have been so tempting and difficult to get through without having some of the "semi-safe" stuff too often. I have terrible will power and I'm so much better when I am not exposed to the foods I should avoid. One cookie might not hurt me but I can never stop at that....it's like playing with IBS fire. I can't wait till it's all over in a way so that I can get back on track with my home-made meals. (I've also gained about 3-5 pounds I think! ) So the good thing is that I am reminded of my IBS and the fact that it has not gone away, I just have to be diligent about having control over it. Does anyone else find the summer really difficult? I guess it's sort of like the holidays fro me. Hope you are all feeling well and surviving the summer meals and heat.
