Hey everyone... I am feeling frustrated right now and I just want to express some thoughts. IBS is so fascinating, confusing and annoying to me. Just when I think one aspect of it is "fixed" (like that's even possible!) another symptom comes up. For instance, I was D every morning for months and months. Then I was kinda C and would go to the bathroom just a little during the day, then have a day or two where I went all the time and kinda emptied myself out. Not my BMs are fairly normal, but every night I get horrifically bloated, with terrible gas and pain. It's so strange!! The weirdest part is that the symptoms are usually fairly nonexistant when I go out at night with friends. It's like it only happens when I lay around on the internet doing nothing after dinner. I guess it makes sense as my body is stagnant and thus my digestion is as well, however it seems psychological in some ways too.... like when I'm happier and not focused on digestion my symptoms are dormant. What do ya'll think about that? I find it strange how syptoms can totally switch from morning to nighttime. I know it all means something, even if it's as simple as I am more rushed in the morning and more relaxed at night so the gas is coming out. I am thinking about a Chinese or Ayurvedic perspective, where everything means something, like the time of day when your symptoms occur and such. I am getting my period tomorrow or the next day, so that's probably why my symptoms are flared up. I just hate thinking I'll have to live with this my whole life, it is so overwhelming. When I start making money (I am interning now and in graduate school), I will for sure see an amazing holisitc doctor, because that's the route I want to take and not the western drug route. My diet is not so great right now also. I am eating carbs and protein, not enough veggies.., and a good amount of sweet foods, which i don't think is good for me. Arg.... thanks for reading this rant if you have. If it provokes any thoughts, please respond!
