I can't offer you any help but I want you to know that after reading your post, you have described me. I am 39 and have been experiencing the exact same thing. Recently, I find that I will not go anywhere without a restroom and I cancel or do not attend any kind of function where I have to ride with someone in a car a long distance or take a plane ride, boat ride, etc. It's really sad. I feel like it is controlling my life now.
I am the same way in that it comes on instantly and I have to find a bathroom asap. Then it's not just go and be done. Last weekend my family and I were all grocery shopping and I had to leave my poor husband with three small kids while I raced back to the bathroom at least 12 times. It was so embarrassing. Now when I go into that same store, I can think about what happened and start it up again.
I wish that I could just never have that fear or think about it again and just be one of those people who can go anywhere, do anything without the fear of having to use the bathroom. I would LOVE that.
I hope you can find some help. I know how you are feeling, though, and just wanted to share that there are many others like you out there and we all understand.
