Ok, so here's the situation: tomorrow I have asked my grandma out for Sunday lunch with me at a new pub. The last time she saw me each in public was a total disaster (think I ran to the loo a total of 6 times throughout the meal, which is strange anyway because I don't even get D attacks! I am IBS-C!) I was so anxious about what to eat, and when it arrived, I just poked at it with my fork because I was so afraid to eat anything! Plus I was very extremely underweight then and all she wanted to do was to feed me things whenever I came to her house (mainly cake and milk and anything high calorie which I had to say no to!) So tomorrow I really want to be able to take her out for a nice meal, and for me to actually be able to eat mine!! (And preferably not to have to run to the loo in the middle!)
So, I went to the restaurant just to see what they offered so I could ask you all what you think my best option would be. I think if I choose beforehand I won't feel so anxious. Ok, here are the the options in more detail:
Chicken Korma - Tender pieces of chicken in a mild creamy sauce with rice, poppadum and mango chutney dip.
Chicken Tikka Masala - Tender pieces of chicken in a mild masala sauce with rice, poppadum and a sour cream and chive dip.
Vegetable Chilli (was on the 'specials' board so not sure exactly what veggies are in it but is served with rice.
Chicken BBQ Enchaladas - Two tortillas filled with strips of chicken and BBQ vegetables, topped with a smoked cheddar cheese sauce with potato wedges and a side salad.
Cajun Chicken - Chicken breast marinated in spices to give it the taste of the Deep South with chips and side salad (I would probably ask for rice as I don't like chips!)
Cauliflower and Red Pepper Gratin - Cauliflower florets with sliced potato and red peppers in a rich Cheddar cheese sauce with potatoes and vegetables.
Run Away and Hide in a Dark Corener - self explanatory!!
By the way there were many more options but they either all included red meat or were deep fried!! Only thing that worries me is that I'm not sure if I am wheat intollerant, so not too sure about the tortillas. I have been tested for a wheat allergy and it came back negative but I always used to get very bloated with bread....but it was usually whole wheat bread...so maybe I will be ok with refined white breads...but still a bit scared to try it out!
I would really appreciate any help you can offer here guys, so get choosin'!!
