Gosh...don't ever feel like a babbling idiot. We've all been there. Sometimes I feel like I am going crazy in them middle of panic attack and I think, "What the hell is wrong with me?" You have lots of things on your plate now so it's understandable that your concerns are amplified. And congratulations on your graduation! Good for you that you followed through and finished successfully!

You did make a good point about the "regular" pain from the surgery to go along with the IBS pain. Yes, it can be uncomfortable when you can't "push" or need to push too much for BMs when you are already in pain in that whole area. Just take one day at a time. You shouldn't feel too much c pain right away unless you are really backed up for days and days afterwards so try to incorporate those safe IFs as soon as the doctor gives the go ahead. And don't forget about painkillers and giving Colace a try. Everyone is different, but it seemed to be gentle enough for me after my surgeries.

Between school and this surgery, you are doing great just hanging in there. You will get through and then can look forward to a new start in 2007.
