I just thought I would share with people that aside from the usual trigger foods (i.e., caffeine, alcohol, dairy), rice causes IBS symptoms in me. It's amazing because every resource I have ever read says that I should in fact, eat rice. I have tested this repeatedly, over time, and every time I get IBS, it's immediately after I have had rice. It doesn't matter what kind of rice, or how long it has been since it was prepared, it causes it every time. This included rice milk, rice noodles, and all varieties of rice. What really makes my situation strange, is that I get headaches after an IBS induced bowl movement. Strange, no?
I felt compelled to post on this website because a lot of people seem to use it as a resource. I also wanted to see if there was anything I could do because I'm moving to Asia in a month for a long period of time, and not being to eat rice in Japan is basically impossible! Well, not impossible, but it will certainly make my life difficult.
Thanks,
Alex
