Acacia okay for candida diet? IBS symptoms and ovulation

I have been following a Candida diet for a few months which seems to have helped my IBS to a certain degree; basically, no sugar, vegetables, limited fruits and whole grains. I do use Citrucel which I don't think I could live without but would like to find something ''more natural.'' I know Acacia is a ''prebiotic'' but my physician who had done stool studies from Great Smokies on me told me not to use inulin or FOS as they both promote growth or ''feed'' certain types of bowel bacteria, one of which was found found in my stool results to be in ''overgrown'' proportions already. This bacteria is one that is actually found in everyone's stool, it is just that mine has ''overgrown.'' I asked him about Acacia's effect and he said he was not familiar with its actions so he couldn't advise one way or another. Does anyone have any information on this or know where I could find out? Also, I notice my IBS usually flares the worst about 3 to 4 days before ovulation and the continues for about 2 to 3 days afterwards. It starts out feeling like my food ''doesn't digest'' i.e, sits heavy on my stomach regardless of what I eat and not much appetite and then builds to the point a few days later where I get what feels like severe gas cramps but only able to pass a small amout if any. I am perimenopausal at 45. Anyone else notice this?
