I think the reason not many are voting is because simply not many people worry about fructose. Sure, many people will avoid HFCS if possible, in foods that are everyday things. But with so many limitations and individual reactions to foods, it's pretty hard to cut out yet another whole group, high-fructose foods, unless we're think they cause problems for us. My bet is that most people deal with fruits, veggies, cereals, and other odd food items that may contain fructose or HFCS as they do with most IF, try them, if they hurt, try them in a safer way (purreed, cooked), if they still hurt, don't eat them. Some people are saying fructose is not an issue at all. Some are saying HFCS is not an issue at all. So, this is not a clear-cut trigger food, and requires finding out personally if it is something that will affect you.
Reason I'm posting this is for any new people on the boards who are learning the diet and start freaking out with all the fructose talk going on. I would think that starting the diet and following it properly should be done first. If you are still having problems then there are many other individual factors to look at (some people are sensitive to things not mentioned in the diet).
Anyways, I voted.. hopefully you'll get a little more tonight. And I guess this post at least 'bumps' it up to the top.
