AC said it perfectly. When I say "don't fight it", that's exactly what I mean.
Don't think you can ignore it and it'll go away, because I tried that approach for years and it didn't work. Just about everyone has SOME little quirk about their bodies that makes them less than healthy - IBS is ours. It's just something to learn to handle, like seasonal allergies or an ingrown toenail. LOL
Acceptance means that even if you aren't stable yet, you take a deep breath on those bad days and have confidence that you're doing the right things for your body and that you WILL feel better. You'd be totally amazed at the power of positive thinking. I was - I should note that I am NOT a naturally optimistic person, LOL!
As for how to get the process started... sheer force of will, honestly. One day I decided that I was not going to let this depress me, and darn it, my life will NOT be ruled by one lone body part!! And that was that!
