I take it as directed, 1 beano pill for about 1/2 cup of 'beano foods'. If you go to their website it states the foods that could cause gassiness. Basically I take it with anything that has soy, vegetables, or grains. 1/2 cup is not that much, so for a glass of soy milk I'd take 2 pills, for stir-fry veggies type platter I'd take 2-3 pills. If I'm eating a meal with no gassy foods, then I don't take any Beano.
