Whenever I start having D episodes, I start searching for the reason why. This bout started when I was on vacation, so I figured it was due to the anxiety of traveling, and the heat. Ye gads, it's hot here in California! I switched to eating safe foods for awhile, and when I got home, I started getting better.
Then it's back to work, and I start having problems again. I added IF foods to my diet, altho I haven't gone to raw salads yet (I could eat them before, with plenty of SF). Yesterday I had some lentil soup and pita bread for lunch, and my tummy started rumbling. In the afternoon I had a handful of grapes for a snack, and I had real problems.
I had stomach cramps that woke me in the middle of the night, which is unusual for me. This morning I ate oatmeal with rice milk and a bananna, and took 2 Immodium (I usually take 1/2 tablet every morning as a preventative). I had to go to the bathroom 3 times before heading off to work.
Was the grapes the cause of this relapse? I'm also weaning off of Amnitryptiline (Elavyl), and wondered if that could cause it. Also, my period is due sometime around now (altho it's hard to tell--I'm at the age where it's starting to go wacko and I'm not sure when it's going to come).
I'm so discouraged! Please help. Thanks.
