I am just confused about what I can and cannot eat (starting to wonder if I can safely eat anything). I have been cutting out all the triggers (red meat, dairy, too much insoluble fiber, etc) and adding in the acacia with my cereals and with snacks. The problem is my constipation/bloating is getting worse without all the insoluble fiber (I guess).
Plus, I know this was probably a mistake, I stopped taking my Miralax (which draws water into the stool. It was really helping the constipation). But being the impatient person that I am, I stopped taking the Miralax b/c I thought it might be causing some of my squishy, gurgly stomach symptoms. I thought the acacia would keep me regular, but, alas, it wasn't enough. Maybe I took too much too soon, or maybe it was the morningstar burger with dairy in it? Either way, I was extremely bloated last night, and I'm somewhat constipated.
I am now going to gradually take Miralax and just keep adding the acacia about three times a day (1 tsp acacia and 1 tsp benefiber is what I do. I had been taking benefiber before, so I'm just sticking with a little of both). I just don't know about decreasing the insoluble fiber. Everyone tells us to eat a lot of bran for constipation. Is that what you have been doing?
