Had a appointment with s[pecialist yesterday. Up to about a couple of hyears ago I was more trend to be IBS D with the diverticulosis. After gall bladder surgery it worsened for a while and then has reversed the other way. Possibly I would maybe say IBS A.
However specialist merely advised that with the long term use control medications, such as lomotil and now of course fiber the the bowel loses some if it;s ability to operate efficiently. His instructions now are to continue with the fibre supplement but where I may take lactulise for the constipation start reducing dosage to half over a period of time.
