i did a search as was suggested the last time i posted about something that it turned out was already thoroughly discussed and NOTHING came up about apple pectin. i just got some and well, it seems to help. the claim that it makes you feel full certainly seems true enough.
however i have recently decreased the amount of fiber in my diet (not on purpose, just been too sick and tired to buy and prepare the foods i usually eat to keep my IBS stable)
it seems that supplements just cant take the place of "real" food, to me as i am constipated now.
or could it be not drinking enough with the apple pectin capsules?
OR possibly the order in which i have done things- i had my morning herbal tea, took two apple pectin capsules, and did not eat any real food (a fruit and cereal bar) for about an hour.
should i be eating first, and then taking the supplements?
please forgive me if that info is available somewhere here and i missed it or forgot it- i have a MANY health problems right now and have had to add several complicated medication protocols, so i am a bit overwhelmed with all that i have to keep track of. (YES i did check to see if any of my new meds have constipation as a side effect, and they do not- one, in fact, often causes diahrrea)
i also continue to add 1/2 spoonful of acaica to my apple juice (i drink juice at room temperature, i can no longer drink anything cold without it upsetting things)
any suggestions on what i can do to make this work for me?
am physically unable to exercise right now- that had been a HUGE help when i was able to do it.
all the best althea
