Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

Tomorrow morning we're going on a 3 day trip to MN. Living just 30 minutes from the US border makes it handy to enjoy a weekend away in Duluth MN and Superior WI, its only a 3 hour drive. I've had aweful attacks again all week, even at work - yet I persevere! and even already this morning before I was even out of bed my tummy was cramping and turning. I went for a peppermint tea with my DF and had 1/2 of a toasted bagel and we had to leave the coffee shop before I even got to the tea. ARGHHHHHH!!!!!!!! I've packed my cooler bag already - graham crackers, dry cinnamon rice chex, animal crackers, rice chips, pretzels, tea bags and honey. Plus there are a ton of huge grocers we can duck into if I need something else on the road. I think having read all of the posts lately I will go to the pharm today and pick up some immodium though. It sounds like a lot of you are having some success with it. I have never tried it since I was diagnosed. I try not to take anything if I can help it, except when I have migraines or surgeries. My biggest worry this weekend will be where we are eating out - I know a couple of the restaurants well and I know the one or two items I can have without a problem, but we're probably going to Olive Garden whether I want to or not, my in-laws to be love the place and we don't have one here. I think if I asked for just plain pasta and explained they might be okay with that. I am just so sick and tired of being sick and tired lately I am probably making things worse for myself worrying trying to feel better!! CATCH 22!
