If I keep with this diet I am going to die.
I can ASSURE you that is not going to happen!
Listen, Virginia, just between you and me -- don't tell anyone -- but I GAINED those 20 pounds you lost on this program. The diet has nothing to do with our weight gain or loss. I believe it's all about MOVING our bodies. It's hard to do when you're doubled over with cramps, but it's essential. I gave in to the temptation to feel sorry for myself, and when I had attacks, I curled up in the fetal position in bed, where I stayed until the attack left me, even though I knew I needed to get up and MOVE. Thus, my weight gain. For you, I believe you gave up on cooking and baking.
Try recipes for things that are high in calories -- NOT FAT -- such as a fruit smoothie in which you use soy "ice cream", honey, banana, fruit of choice. Try making some of the delicious cakes and cookies; I've posted several fantastic cookie recipes, such as the oatmeal raisin cookies -- OMG! To die for.
I truly believe you just need to experiment more with IBS-friendly recipes. Just go through the recipe index in the Recipe Board and you'll see what I'm talkin' about.
