i find that the easiest drinks to tolerate are clear (or close to) and low-sugar. (of course, avoid dairy drinks like white russians, and if carbonation is hard on you, take that into account.) so i avoid, for example, amaretto sours ( ) and beer, but am okay with a glass or two of white wine, or a vodka tonic/vodka & cranberry. vodka's generally the safest hard liquor. so a martini without a lot of sugary liquers should be pretty okay - but it'll also be really strong, so make sure you make all other circumstances (like drinking it on a stomach full of safe, low-fat, high-SF food) in your favor.
