Hi, Taenea. I'm sorry to hear you have IBS and PCOS! It sounds like you've read some of the information on this site about the IBS diet. You should definitely start taking a SFS, like acacia or Benefiber, and make sure you eat frequent, small meals (every 2-3 hours). Both of these will not only help your IBS symptoms but they should also help with some of your PCOS symptoms. A soluble fiber supplement (SFS) has been shown to slow down the digestion of carbs and this results in better glucose metabolism. I know there have been past discussions on IBS and PCOS; if you haven't done so yet, do a board search.
You might also want to check the IBS Diet FAQs on the main Help for IBS page. There's a section on the IBS diet and diabetes, recommendations which would also work for someone with PCOS. Here's the link: Diabetes & IBS. It lists which low-GI whole grains are easiest for IBSers to digest and recommends root vegetables high in soluble fiber instead of the high GI white potatoes.
Also, when you're first starting to get stable it's fine to take Immodium daily. If you do a search on Imodium or Immodium (it's spelled both ways), you should find plenty of information and previous discussions about this medication. Also, Heather covers IBS medications on the main site: IBS medications
Are you currently taking any IBS meds? Like anti-spasmodics, ADs (anti-depressants), or anti-diarrheals?
One more thing, are you taking glucophage for your PCOS? Isn't diarrhea a side effect of this medication? A friend of mine w/ PCOS is on this med and experienced D when she first started taking it.
I don't know about the bruising. Is this related to the PCOS? It definitely isn't a symptom of IBS. If at all possible, I would see a doctor about this.
HTH.
