I have had ibs for about 20 yrs, but when I had my gallbladder out last March, it sent my IBS into orbit!!! I had been, until that time, relatively symptom free for a couple of years. Well, as you know...that hasn't been the case since the surgery! 60/70 pounds less later....I still can't eat even remotely normally. I tried questran (gag) after the surgery, but with limited success. I tried the calcium carbonate for a while, also with limited success. They both gave me what my IBS is...the C induced "poo plug" (as I heard it described on another site) lol with the explosive D backed up behind it, which of course, I end up with my whole system spasming out with C/D/V all at the same time. Believe me...it IS possible!!!!! I am living proof! lol ![](/messageboards/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif)
So, after seeing a new GI doc., I am off to the pharmacy to pick up Welchol, which is a pill form of something similar to the questran. Hopefully it won't have the C effects of the questran. It's got to taste better!!! Well...I'll keep you posted on the results!
