My goodness! Having to deal with IBS is horrible, but Hepatitis as WELL? OMG!
Well, I can help you out a little bit at least with the fresh fruit and veggies, which your body needs and which you should have -- even with IBS, believe it or not. Heather talks about this in her books and here on the website.
For fruit, choose your faves, and then pulverize them in a blender with some soy yogurt or soy "ice cream" and a banana, maybe even some honey. It's the best way to get your fruit -- and lots of it.
For veggies, make yourself some veggy soup. Just buy some chicken stock and add FINELY-chopped veggies of your choice (however, I'd stay clear of cabbage and broccoli), making sure they're cooked REAL WELL before eating.
You can also make a cream soup, using soy milk and pulverizing the veggies until they're liquid. Check the Recipe Board for Mag's fabulous cream of broccoli soup. It's the only way I can tolerate broccoli -- in liquid form!
Don't worry about the weight right now; you can deal with that later. Just concentrate on the diet and getting better. That should be your main focus at this time.
