Once again, thanks for the advice.
Last night I had a similar reaction when I had Tomatoe Sauce, I became highly bloated. I have had the same experiences when I use Italian dressing, which does not have tomatoes, but lots of vinegar.
I should mention, when I do use any kind of sauce, I usually have my food dripping in it. Maybe this indicates not an intolerance to vinegar, tomatoes, or acid, but rather the need to be more moderate than others, and especially than I am accustomed to.
I might be tempted to think I could have something else in addition to IBS given the reaction to acid foods, but, all I get is bloating and some gas, no heartburn, cramping, indigestion. So maybe this is just a case of overdoing it?
Atomic Rose, when you have tomatoes, vinegar, and acid foods, how much do you consume? Is your food dripping in tomatoe or vinegar sauce, or is there a small portion used just enough to glaze or taste? Is there some sort of food I could have with acid foods to help prevent any problems, sort of like with insoluable fiber you match it with soluable fiber?
