Hmm okay. I have quaker plain rolled oats here, and I always used to just boil the kettle and pour the hot water over a bowl of dried oats. Woulf this be problematic?? Should I prepare them in a different way, would they be safer?? Ex: Stove-top. The microwave is something I don't use often. I've never cooked oats in there before. Just milk and on high for a minute or two? (I have the flavoured packets as well. The brown sugar ones are really good! But I wouldn't use them if I were just starting out on the diet. I would stick to plain at first. But they are safe, I'm pretty sure.)
