Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

I too much prefer the taste of soy milk to dairy - have since I was a little kid. Now, that's probably a little weird!

What matters is that folks try a wide variety of brands, flavors, soy vs. rice, etc. The tastes can vary a LOT, so keep trying different types till you find the one you like best.

And what you like for cereal may not be what you prefer to cook with. Silk tastes great, but it won't thicken if you use it in custards or puddings. I like to drink vanilla, but I cook with plain unsweetened as I think it works better. And I try to buy the cheap generic brands for cooking with in general, as I can't taste them at all in finished recipes. I splurge on the tastier brands for cereal and drinking.

Also, there's almond and oat milks, so there's something else to try!
