Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | IBS & Overactive Thyroid

I dont have IBS but im desperately trying to get info for my boyfriend. He had IBS & recently got an Overactive thyroid. he is supposed to be around 140 pounds but is 115 now and the doctor said his muscles are deteriorating b/c of not enough nutrients from food. He wasnt eatin enough & was exercising & lifting weights & stuff,Which he stopped b/c of the thyroid. His thyroid became overactive. The reason why he ate so little was b/c almost everythin cramped him. He barely ate. And now that he needs to eat more b/c of the thyroid ,he is trying to eat more of the stuff he can eat to gain weight while he is takin meds for his Thyroid & ibs. He gained 5 pound since but now has dropped to 115 again for no reason. He really needs help w/ this desperately and he is gettin hopeless & depressed b/c this all could get serious & nothing is working. things just keep gettin worse. I decided to take the initiative to research online about having both IBS & overactive thyroid but couldnt find anything. So I ask that can some one please.. a doctor,professional any1.... please help me w/ info on what can help.i dont want my boyfriend doing anything bad out of sadness of all that is happening to him & i dont want his heart being affected by the overactive thyroid. He has all the meds for the thyroid & vitamins for ibs but needs more help, professional advice & input! please help!!!!!
