Actually the first page you posted was saying that as IBS-C's need lots of IF, they may need to reduce the proportion of SF in their diet to get enough IF as SF can be very filling. Like I said, they just don't emphasise the importance and usefulness of SF.

Heather's always said that we need to get as much IF in our diets as possible, especially if we're at all C.

As for laxatives, as I understand it, the osmotic laxatives like Miralax are just fine. Stimulant laxatives can be bad for IBS-C (as opposed to CC) b/c 1. your GI tract can get dependent on the which could mean that you need higher and higher doses (with more & more side effects) and 2. the IBS GI tract is known to over-react to stimuli, so you could actually be making yourself worse in the medium to long term.
