Hi Matt, I'm an IBS-C also, and I have an enlarged prostate too. In fact I take double Flomax plus Avodart. The enlarged prostate shouldn't cause constipation, it may be a bit more difficult to pass stools. If it was causing constipation it would be so ballooned you wouldn't be able to pee at all. If you're having trouble passing stools, then do what I do, squat, that straightens out the 'anorectal angle' to 180 degrees as opposed to 90 degrees when you sit upright on the toilet, and makes it much easier to poop. It's a good idea to bag the Zelnorm, my GI doc told me the same thing as yours, and I had a severe allergic reaction to it. I had D for two weeks after stopping it, it takes a long time to get out of your system. I've had some success with drinking coffee again. It seems half the time it works the other half it aggravates. I'm not doing too bad right now. I've been managing to go a couple of times in the morning every day, it's not fun mind you, but at least it's coming out. I think the 25mg of Paxil I take is the key factor in having the BM's. If you can, get yourself an SSRI like Paxil, it may really help. Also, you may be increasing your acacia dose too fast which may contribute to your being gassy. And yes, this board is totally dominated by women, you just have to put up with their calling each other sweetie and honey and giving {{hugs}} and stuff like that. It's no too bad -Bob
