Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Any sensitivities to other medications?

Just a heads up if you have sensitivites to other medications. I know that I can't take sudafed or other cold/flu meds since they either keep me wide awake or drop me into a coma (usually from the "non-drowsy") and wind up experiencing most of the listed side effects on any medication.

I took Celexa for 4 or 5 days before I had the most horrible reaction. I would rather have my IBS flare up than go through the Celexa ordeal. I was taking the Celexa for anxiety related to my job. I started out fine the first few days and then suddenly I had the most horrible stomach cramping, nausea and then I had diarrhea (worse than any of my IBS attacks) and vomiting for a week (lost 20 pounds). I was wide awake and couldn't sleep and kept trying to stay hydrated but with no luck. I was cold but sweating uncontrollably. Once the doctor told me to stop it took a week for my body to purge the stuff out of my system. Then there was short term memory loss on simple things (like not being able to remember to buy bread when it was the only thing I needed at the store, etc).

I actually had to stay home from work because of the side effects which usually with an IBS attack I am home one maybe two days. I don't know if I would do it just to keep the diarrhea away since it actually caused me more than if I was to cheat and eat dairy or red meat.
