So I get to do the awesome liquid diet thing too. I was thinking, gosh, since I am expelling everything in my body anyway, why not cheat and drink gallons of Coke? I have to do the liquids Monday. I am not allowed anything after 8:00 on Tuesday and my colonoscopy is at 3:00 (!!! I don't know how I am going to last -- I'm tryng not to think about it). The question is, will I be sick on Wednesday from cheating on Monday? I have to go back to work then. Also, the GI's office said I could have hard candy -- "lemon drop type". What the heck is "lemon drop type"?? I hate lemon drops themselves so I wouldn't eat them. I looked at other hard candy but it seems like all of it is red or purple so that would have the bad coloring, right? They also said chewing gum is OK. Does that mean sugary Bubble Yum?? It might make me feel like I am eating something. When I did my prep for my colonoscopy last year, I had ginger ale and water -- that's it. I kept busy so I didn't really notice I wasn't eating. I was pretty much OK but I think around 4:00 in the afternoon I was seized by an intense French fry craving.
