Thanks for the info, Sand (both parts). I really don't want to take time off work unless I absolutely have to. I have a fabulous job -- I love my boss, I love my work, I love the company -- and I want to keep it. I am also very leery of taking time off when I have no idea how long I'm going to be sick. Sure, if I knew that I had some kind of Martian tapeworms that are exorcised by three weeks of antibiotics, then I'd do it, but I don't have the luxury of treatable Martian tapeworms. (at least, not that I know of. Guess you never know about rural well water.) For now I think I'll get a note from my doctor explaining my condition and talk to our HR rep a little and see what she thinks.
This weekend was better for me. Not sure if it's just because I got to stay home and relax with the heating pad, or if my tummy's calming down a little. Hope it's the latter. My doctor's appointment is tomorrow, I will go beg for stronger meds.
