Hope you don't mind my "stepping in".
1. The key to constipation is to keep up with your soluble fiber (LOTS) and tons of water. I don't think protein is a big issue either way.

2. More fats is NOT the way to go. Fats of any kind (animal or otherwise) are the worst IBS trigger. It may overstimulate your colon and send you right back into constipation.

3. Chicken or fish - I don't think there's much difference. They are both low fat and it's good to have some of each. Just make sure you don't cook them in tons of fat - steaming or BBQing or in a non-stick with a TOUCH of oil. Another great protein source is peanut butter - but it's high in fat. Keep the portions small and try to buy the light version.

4. Finally, soluble fiber will NOT make things worse during an attack of C. Check out this page - it will explain how it works - web page

Take care and let us know how you're doing.
Han.
