Butting in  I just wanted to say that I bought the supermarket fennel seeds too and it basically was like drinking water... I mean that it had no effect on my gut at all. So I thought, hey, guess fennel doesn't work for me, too bad. Then, when my bloating was getting really bad, I sucked it up and bought some of Heather's (loose seed) fennel. No, I really (REALLY) cannot afford it either. But I justified it somehow (it was probably late at night lol  ). I'm SO glad I did. This stuff is NOT the stuff you get at the grocery store - it's so much more potent and boy does it work! I was shocked at how well.
Gosh, this probably sounds like a commercial and I don't mean it to. There are lots of places you can get really potent fennel - Heather's is not the only one. But I just wanted to give my testimonial to the fact that if you can find a strong one (and Heather's is one), then it really works. So, if you can justify spending the $, it's totally (totally!) worth it to splurge. Hope that's helpful in some way!
