i'm not sure what exactly got the gas to finally calm down. i've only been keeping a food diary for the last week or so, so it's hard to tell. it may just be a fluke. i eat (& drink) lots of soy, but always have, so i don't think it's that. i know that vegetables, even cooked, make my gas worse. i've also been suspicious of hfcs as a culprit, so i try to avoid that as much as possible. something else that's recent and may have helped is switching to, as so many people suggest, many small meals throughout the day. i used to think that i'd never feel full if i did that, but it's been working nicely. it may have helped with the gas. gas also tends to be triggered very easily, for me, by stress and nerves. who knows. no magic bullet, and not entirely gas-free. and i always keep a bottle of gas-x in my bag.
