Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | new meds dicylomine and citalopram question

i'm finally getting somewhere with my doctor and such. i have a appointment next month with a GI specialist. in the mean time they prescribed me dicylomine 20 mg, which i take 3-4 times a day and citalopram 20 mg which i cut in half for 2-3 weeks then go to a whole pill.

i started the pills yesterday, it seems to be helping, though i still get cramping and my tummy muscles tighten for a few seconds but not bad, aand it only happened maybe 3 times. the citalopram is an antidepressant which my doc prescribed because i was saying i was feeling low when i had the really bad bouts of tummy hurts...she said it could help stop tummy pain too. the dicyclomine helps with tummny cramping. i think so far i like it....but is there anything else (even if i replace it) that anyone recoments.

i'm ibs-a mostly d....i'm act7ually not diagnosed yet...we have to do the other tests as well, but they are giving me this stuff in the mean time.
