I usually buy the long loaves of French (watch ingredients, some have dairy) at WalMart $1.00. When I get home I split it up into 3 bags and freeze 2 of them. I still throw out some but not as much as without freezing. Taste and texture hasn't been effected at all by the freezing and I'm very picky about frozen foods.
