Before i sampled this supplement, i did a fair amount of reading on the web to find out some background info. I even saw the previous posts on here talking about it and how Heather wasnt too keen on the concept to the supplement.
Regardless i can say (although still early) that it has helped more so than anything i have ever been on. I have been suffering with IBS(constipation) since jan'03 and i have been on Dicetel, Librax, Paxil and Primal Defense. All of them had there moments of acclaim, but were very short lived and didnt have as much of an overall effect.
Ive been on IBSACOL for over a month and i now have regular bowel movements daily (even up to 3 times a day sometimes). Sure the stool is still soft, but passing waste on a regular basis makes me feel 100% better. (obviously)
When you order from ibsacol.com, I believe you have to order a minimum of 2 bottles which = 360 capsules. You start out by taking 2 capsules in the morning, 2 midday (say around 3-5pm) and 2 before you go to bed. You do this for the first 2 weeks and after the 2 weeks you will increase to 3 pills per dose. They say to increase the capsules if you need to see improvement, but i stayed at 3(9 per day). The key to all of this is water. I mean you have to at least drink 8+ glasses of water for this to be effective. You will go to the washroom a lot at first. Best thing is to drink 1 full glass of water with each dose and then just drink water all day.
The first 2 months are what they call the loading phase. After that they say you can take say 2-3 pills once a day and be fine all day. Im not there yet, but ill keep you posted.
The first 2 weeks of starting IBSACOL i did notice my throat felt as if it was swollen (not like sore throat swollen), i was fairly tired at points, and it didnt look like my bowel movements were improving. I even had diarrhea once in the first week. Beyond that things got better when i didnt think they were getting better. Just be patient.
The bowel movements are pretty much dependent on what you eat. For instance if i decide to eat mcdonalds or something a long those lines, I only had one bowel movement the next day. The best thing you can do is once you have been on the pill for a while, test its limits and what you can or cannot eat. I didnt stretch the limits too far, but even a little bit of alcohol didnt sit too well with me. I got all bloated within a few hours and felt like i was going to blow up.
I admit i was weary ordering a product overseas, but im at the point where i need to take back control of my life instead of living life next to a toilet. I took the chance and it has worked out better than i expected.
Im not saying this pill is going to work for everyone, nor am i saying you can eat all the greasy foods you want, but for me i have been given some serious breathing room in what i could not eat before. I know greasy take out foods are not good for anyone regardless of your health situation, but at least i know that i can still have them at least once a month or so and not worry about sh*tting my pants.
