I just cook the fruit, i.e. stew it/bake it and then pulverize it in the blender. It's the same process as making applesauce. You can, however get creative with the sauce-making process and play with the simmering liquids! It's just like making baby food! I suppose you could even strain it. You can can do it with just a little water or a little juice, alcohol, vinegar, etc. You can add sugar/honey/maple syrup/stevia, etc., two...cinnamon, cloves, ginger, etc. Sometimes, I take a raw recipe and just adapt it by cooking it--adding that dreaded element, HEAT!!! (Raw foodists are really anti-heating food as it "destroys enzymes") Blueberries are like little indigo peas, so keep that in mind when you add flame to them. Adding some sf fruit or eating them with sf is a good idea. It really makes a big difference. Perhaps blueberry/apple? (when I say apple, I mean a bit of peeled apple in with the blueberries--and there are so many varieties to choose from. Blueberry/banana? Blueberry/Pear? Just take a walk through the baby food aisle and you'll see what I mean. Blueberry/apple/plum would be delightful. Blueberry/nectarine? Blueberry/zucchini? Use your imagination! It would be a great sauce/dressing/condiment for squash! Blueberry/carrot sounds yummy to me. A sort of adaptation of that infamous raspberry dressing. Blueberry/beet would be really really good.
Mango and papaya don't seem to bug me. But, now that you mention it, I think I'll try cooking them!
I think I've turned into Prometheus!!!
I generally cook the herbs. It tends to release the flavours. I might use a very very small amount of fresh as garnish. Herbs cook just as fast as fresh spinach. Incidentally, I use fresh baby spinach, but if I used chopped frozen spinach, I WOULD PUT IT IN THE FOOD PROCESSOR.
I cannot, I regret, answer your last question re: how to eat your food. That is up to you to determine. Finely chopping, though, is a good idea.
