I control mine with diet, SFS, enzymes and probiotic. However, I did use a med more when I first started -- and when I feel my tummy getting grumbly and upset, I still have the script to try and stop an attack. The med I use is NuLev. It is really nice to have because you don't need water - they are tiny pills that dissolve under your tongue. They taste almost like mints too. They help with calming the contractions which cause all the D and all that. It doesn't always stop the attack -- but it usually does -- and it certainly shortens it. It's not somethign you take all the time to manage your IBS though.
