It very well may have been the Splenda. Most artificial sweeteners are considered triggers. Especially sorbitol, malitol, (well, any of those sugar alochols actually). For what I can gather, Splenda here is about as controversial as Splenda in the general public. Some use it, some thing it is akin to murder. I guess I fall somewhere in the middle.

I don't think that it is a particularly good idea. It causes D in the general population, so for those who are already thus inclined, it just seems like not the best decision. That said, I have to admit I am still eating it a bit. Some of my family is diabetic (which is quite hard to mesh with this diet) so as a compromise, sometimes I cook IBS recipes, but make them with Splenda. I'm trying to find a way to get some Stevia though, it seems to be the much safer sweetener.
