Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

I too can relate to this. It was only about 12 months ago I had such bad D (and it lasted up until about 2 months ago) that I couldn't eat. I've slowly been adding more food into my diet to "stretch" my tummy. It was only small bits at first, an extra 1/8 cup rice etc and lots of snacks. Now I'm falling back into the pattern of 3 meals a day, but I plan to start snacking again. I've managed to put on 2 kilos so that's great. Casey's advice is wonderful. Just wanted to let you know I've been there too.
I've had anxiety and depression for about 2 1/2 years but really didn't want to go on any meds. I'm currently just starting an SSRI which I'll let you know if it's helping or not when I get through the initial patch of side effects. It's called Luvox and seems to be the best one I've taken so far (fingers crossed) and as a bonus it's sent me C instead of my usual D (although that's starting to go a bit far for my liking now, but my doc says it will settle down within the week too).
