I don't know about it being laxatative or not - she's C, but she didn't say anything about whether or not it made her go. It's pretty expensive ($6.50 for 8oz - you take 4tbsp a day) and probably the NASTIEST thing I have ever smelled or tasted, but I'm willing to try anything.
