Enzymes and nausea

Hi, everyone!

I need help with two issues.

First, after reading about digestive enzymes here, I tried Ultimate Enzymes. They seem to have a wide spectrum of "-ases" in them - and I think they make me really really nauseus! Does anyone else have this problem with enzymes? Could it be a particular enzyme, like lactase or sucrase? They are veggie caps instead of gel - could that be it? I'm IBS-A, and I was taking them with meals...I've thought of opening the caps and sprinkling the powder on my food to see if it's the caps, but I'm a little afraid to do it - I don't want to feel sick again!

Second issue - When I have my period, my IBS symptoms disappear - all of them! I feel great and can eat almost anything (except dairy). From what I've read here, it seems that the opposite is more common - more symptoms and less stability. Does anyone else out there feel better like I do? Could the fact that I feel better during my period mean that I have something else, not IBS?

Thanks to everyone on this board - I have gained so much from your insights!

-Sue
