Generally they'll do a poop and wee test, ask some questions, check your weight and then talk to you about diet etc and some do a blood test. If you continue to have problems you may be sent for a gastoscopy, a colonoscopy, barium meal, x-rays and be checked for endometriosis. I've had all of the above plus some, have been seeing doctors since I was a kid and have just been told that yes, it's IBS (I'm 26 now). But that being said it is important to be diagnosed by a doctor cause some of the symptoms are the same as some more serious problems like Pelvic Inflammatory Diseases.
