I'm new here, obviously, and new to IBS. I've had it for a year now. I had NO such symptoms prior. I am 25. I've read all about it on Google and seen 1 Dr. It sounds like I am a classic case of IBS with Diarhea. I have no symptooms of Chrons, Colittis or Lactose Intollerance. My mom too has suffered since childhood with IBS. I can not stress what an absolute nightmare this has been!! I am already a pretty shy tense sort in public, it was already hard for me to go out and/or deal with any stress. Now with this IBS I'm on the toilett the minute I get mildly tense or in pain when out and can't be in a bathroom. Car trips are a no-can-do, dentist visits, etc. I am so scared to see a true Dr about this. I do not want all their stupid tests and cameras up my butt just to find out I have what I know Ihave for sure and they can't help me anyways!!! Any reassurance?? I think honestly meds that relax me are my best bet. Overall diet does not seem to be a big blame for my IBS. Hormones-maybe-since I do get a real bad week once a month. I need to know too how will fiber pills help?? Won't they make me go potty MORE?? Mint tea has helped some. I nolonger eat any sugar/sweetened products, no fast food, little dairy, eat small amounts, no caffeine and I exersize daily. It has helped some, but when I'm tense...it is still IBS city! What could a Dr prescribe for me? Is it worth it then to see a Dr to get it? What will he do? Is there anything-relaxants especially-I can take safely during pregnancy and nursing? Does pregnancy make IBS go away? Sorry so many ?s, thankyou tho!
