That's exactly what I do when I'm bored and anxious about something----eat without thinking about it. It usually works for me if I start reading a good book. I will get so absorbed in the book that I forget to eat. Some other ideas---go for a walk, clean out a closet or garage, rent a movie (or go to the theater, just skip the popocorn.) Sometimes when I'm really bored, I will go to Barnes and Noble or Borders book store and just read magazines and IBS books there. I usually shop when I'm bored. I never get tired of that. I don't usually buy anything (thank goodness), but I sure can look all day. Hey, you can't blame a girl for dreaming! Ha! I know at Weight Watchers meetings, we talked about what to do when we eat out of boredom. Another suggestion is to take a long, hot bubble bath, work in your garden, or call a friend. If you really, really want something but don't need the calories, suck on a lollipop!
