I had the both blood work and a biopsy done for celiac. Two of the tests (IgG and IgA antibody) came back high positive, but the one most specific for celiac (endomysial) came back neg as did the biopsy and the celiac gene blood test.
My GI doc wanted me to try GF because he feels I may have latent celiac or a general gluten intolerance. But as I said in other posts, it hasn't seemed to help my IBS symptoms a whole lot being GF only turning my chronic D to chronic C! So I've been thinking of trying to eat it again. I don't know though considering I did have high antibody test results.
Why did you decide to try GF? Did you just try it on your own or did someone suggest it to you? You did it for a long time! Isn't it the pits. I mean IBS diet has enough restrictions. I would love to be able to eat bagels, luna bars, pretzels, crackers.... again! Plus it's hidden in everything like condiments, soups, etc. Plus, I would love to eat Heathers bread recipes!
Oh, do you find that certain veggies help more with the C? Like spinach is better than carrots or squash which are both insoluble? Boy, I told you I was done with the questions. Sorry I keep asking more, but inquiring minds want to know. Plus, I'm giving you practice for your future profession (makes me feel less guilty, maybe!). Sorry!
