Hi Steph, Not sure if you've been able to talk with a doctor about this or not yet, but here's my thoughts... As others have mentioned, this may be mucus, but I'm not sure from the way you've described it. While it's never a good sign to pass mucus, it's not a HUGE concern that something is HORRIBLY wrong. If you are passing small amounts of mucus (like a teaspoon or two at most) it means that your system is distressed and your muscles in your GI tract going a little nuts from all the spasms associated with having D. It's not good when this happens, but it should clear up once you get the D under control, so if you think that's what's going on, then concentrate on the D and the mucus will subside with it. However, if we're talking larger quantities of stuff or if you think it's something with a consistency that is entirely different from mucus then this could point to something else and that's where your doctor should be giving you more advice. Something could be going wrong with your liver, but there would be other indicators that would immediately let the doctor know if that's the case and they'll be able to treat it. On the kidney infection suggestion, lemme tell ya', if you had a kidney infection you would know it! I've had two and both landed me in the hospital with a RAGING fever and horrible pain - you would know this was NOT IBS and there would be no doubts on it. So unless you have a fever, I wouldn't worry about that one too much. Most of all, I'll tell you in general, try to take this slowly and not get yourself worked up about it - I know that sounds a bit lame to say when you're having so many problems right now and I'm in no way tryint to make light of that, but the more stressed you get about it the more difficult it will be for you to start getting better. I'm sure the yoga and hypnotism is good to relax, so just make sure you get enough of that kind of stuff and remember that you will get better - I remember when you were stable - I know it's hard for you to remember that but focus on it - I have to do that all the time myself as every attack seems to cancel out the hard work to have good days, I guess the bad ones show up more vividly, but we have to focus on the good days and there WILL be more of them. Feel better Steph. Let us know how all this turns out. Mindy
